Youth Mission Trip to Shawnee, OK
The First Baptist Church Youth Ministry is heading out to Shawnee, OK for a weeklong mission trip experience. I’m blessed to be going along as a driver/chaperone/bottle washer/counselor and whatever else Pastor Jim, our youth minister, requires!

Mission trips are such great experiences for all. It’s an opportunity to practice what we preach day in and day out in church. We take our message from the confines of the sanctuary to the world around us. Just to visit another area of the country is an eye-opening experience. We broaden our horizons by seeing the culture and lifestyle of others. It gives us a better sense of perspective on our very own situation. Not only do we get to share God’s love with others through the expression of Bible teaching, sports camps, serving meals, survey work and prayer, we receive a deeper understanding of God’s love for us.

Pray for the 38 students and 5 adults that are traveling beginning June 21. Pray for travel mercies and safety, the health and well-being of the missionaries, the reception of those who we will be ministering to and of course, God’s plan and purpose through us all!
